AI planning sends your instruction and the transcript excerpts it needs to the AI provider, only after you approve. Using your own provider key, when offered, sends that text directly to the provider; it does not make the request offline. Local-only mode makes no network requests. Audio, video and thumbnails stay on your Mac in every mode.
